Surgislip Concentrated Instrument Lubricant 4Litre

Surgislip® is a concentrated instrument lubricant for use in washers or for soaking instruments in. Clinically tested to be thoroughly steam penetrable, steam sterilisable and Ethylene Oxide sterilisable.

Surgislip® is a non-sticky, non-toxic, silicone-free and water-soluble mineral oil lubricant that can withstand the high temperatures of autoclaving without becoming gummy. Forming a protective barrier on surgical instruments, Surgislip® prevents rusting, staining, and spotting while restoring articulation to sticky box-locks and joints.

INDICATIONS:

• Surgislip should be used routinely on all surgical instruments.
• Recommended usage is once per week.
• In areas where there is a high mineral content in the water, it may be necessary to use more frequently.
• DO NOT USE A MORE CONCENTRATED SOLUTION to accommodate this problem.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

• Mix one part Surgislip with ten parts warm water.
• Place diluted solution in a non-porous bowl/container (preferably stainless steel).
• Immerse thoroughly cleaned instruments into Surgislip solution.
• Remove instruments and let drain dry.
• DO NOT RINSE OR WIPE.
• For exceptionally stiff instruments, actively open and shut forceps, clamps or scissors in solution for 30 seconds and then proceed as directed.
• Drained instruments are ready for preparation and terminal sterilisation.
• Always cover Surgislip solution when not in use.
• Solution may require gentle agitation prior to use.
