Environmental Information:

Most prescription bags are made from uncoated kraft paper and are both recyclable and biodegradable. Their decomposition time depends on the environment:

  • In a compost pile: Under optimal conditions with sufficient moisture and oxygen, they can decompose in 2 to 6 weeks.
  • In a natural environment (soil): They typically decompose in 2 to 5 months.
  • In landfill: Due to limited oxygen and moisture, decomposition is much slower and can take 6 months or more.
