The Oesophageal Stethoscope is a simple and effective way of monitoring the heart rate, rhythm and character of the heart and lung sounds during anaesthesia.
Consists of a thin, flexible, blind-ended tube with a number of holes in the side-wall close to the blind end of the tube
Thin plastic membrane over perforated area prevents fluid entering the lumen of the tube
Variety of diameters available
Connects to the Y-piece of a standard pair of stethoscope earphones by means of a small plastic adaptor
Length: 500mm (50cm) or 1100mm (110cm)
